United Way works to advance the common good by focusing on the three building blocks for a good quality of life-education, income and health. We are recruiting people and organizations from all across the community who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done, and we need you to join us. You can give, you can advocate and you can volunteer. When we work together in common purpose, we LIVE UNITED!
You may remember Corporate Challenge that United Way held 12 years ago. It was crazy. It was fun. It was competitive. Well, we are bringing back that great tradition and we are kicking it up a notch. We want to bring the whole community together for a weekend of fun, food and games and we want YOU! Pick your favorite event, get a team together and start practicing. Or, just join the spectators while eating some good food from local food trucks. Save the date, put it on your calendar now!
The Community Challenge portion of the weekend, held on Saturday, September 10 in Snyder Park is open to the public. Food Trucks and concessions will be in the park and will open at 7:30 a.m. There will be a Kids Zone full of activities and an inflatable obstacle course for adults. Musical entertainment will begin at 10:00 a.m. and beer sales will be open from noon until 3:00 p.m. This event truly has something fun for everyone, and will be a great day for the community to come together.
