Lo Hauser and Kristi Limes from Project Jericho visited today June 6th, 2017, and received a Donation from our Foundation for $1,000 from Wendy Holt our club’s Child Abuse Prevention Chairman.  Lo and Kristi presented a video about the creation of a new mural at the Solid Waste Management facility on West Main Street.  The art project was developed by the students and a professional muralist.

Project Jericho provides in-depth performing and visual arts camps and workshops with a goal to make art and cultural experiences available to all youth and families in our community.

The program is based on recent research that demonstrates the positive impact of arts programs on youth and families, including (among other indicators) decreases in delinquent behavior and court involvement, increased communication and social skills, and improved ability to complete home and school tasks.

Just as the trumpet’s blare brought down the walls of Jericho, the arts break down barriers to communication, self-expression, and confidence, allowing individuals to reach their full potential.

Project Jericho is additionally supported by grants from The Turner Foundation, the Ohio Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Ohio Department of Youth Services.
