The Exchange Club of Springfield manned a booth at the National Night Out event in Snyder Park Tuesday evening August 1, 2017. Child Abuse Prevention Chairman Wendy Holt organized Kid Crafts for the young ones and provided quizzes for the tweens, teens, and parents. The pop quiz centered on Cyber Safety. Handouts helped teens and tweens understand some of the dangers presented by uncontrolled access to the World Wide Web. Other handouts provided parents with methods of speaking to their children about how to have safe fun on the Internet. We estimate 200 handouts were picked up by our target audience. If we prevented even one child from Cyber Crime, we consider it a very successful evening!
