The Exchange Club of Springfield welcomed Rob Lavoie, Executive Director of the Tecumseh Council, Scouts BSA.  The rising instances of suicide among our teenagers has an anti-dote according to Mr. Lavoie; The Scouts.  Studies have shown that Scouts are more cheerful and connected than those children who are not participating.  The values and morals in order to make ethical choices have always been a tenet of scouting since its inception over 100 years ago.

The local council has 3,400 boys, including 5 troops of girls, with some 1,300 in adult leadership.  Having fun is key and to that end there were some 30,000 hours of camping nights at Camp Birch, the Council’s outdoor center in Green County, in 2018.  Many activities, including a new rifle range, as well as water sports,  ziplining, climbing, and more are featured at Camp Birch

Don Lynam , Treasurer of the Exchange Club Foundation of Springfield, Ohio, presented a $1,000 donation to the Council so that they may carry out their good works.
