The Exchange Club of Springfield did not meet Tuesday March 17, 2020. Our guest speaker would have been Carlisa Parker, Director of the Clark County Child Advocacy Center. We would have learned about the “Save Jane” Project originating in Dallas, Texas.
This campaign is to raise awareness of how Child Abuse affects each and every one of us in our community. This campaign reminds our community that there are real children and stories behind each name that is represented and that our Advocacy Center and Children Services stands up and fights for each one of them. April is Prevention of Child Abuse Month. Carlisa is pictured with Club President Melissa Tuttle during a visit in 2019.
We will not meet Tuesday March 24, 2020. Our guests would have been the Youth of the Year, the First and Second Honorable Mention Youths of the Year, as well as the A.C.E. Award selectees. This will be rescheduled at a future date, if possible.
The students are – Youth of the Year is Kyle Ewing, Catholic Central – 1st Honorable Mention, Logan Myer – CTC, and 2nd Honorable Mention, Kyla Tuttle from Southeastern High School. The A.C.E. Award goes to Emily Ware. Congratulations!
