The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio delivered 12 more completed baby layette baskets under Operation Baby Link Wednesday December 2, 2020. This is a program that was started by the Airman & Family Readiness Program for the Guard Base and has been in effect for several years. The Exchange Club accepted responsibility for the project four years ago. The Exchange Club Foundation Springfield, Ohio provides the funds to create the baskets.
The purpose is to provide a baby layette basket to expecting local Air National Guard service members and or their spouse, for new infants up to 2 months of age.
The baskets include a baby poem, “Children Learn What They Live”, which are printed and framed to put in the baskets that compliment the Child Abuse Prevention National Exchange Project.
The baskets will have a note that they are provided in concert from the Springfield Air National Guard Airman and Readiness Program and the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio. To date the club has provided several hundred baby baskets and will continue to provide them as long as they are needed.
The items include the following:
Baby Bottles, Onesies, Bottle Brushes, Bath Toys, Pacifiers, Bath Loofahs, Bibs, Rattles, Baby Wipes, Baby Powder, Baby Shampoo, Baby Spoons, Wash Cloths, Snack Containers, Safety Plugs, Stuffed Toys, Baby Lotion, Socks, Small Books , Baby Comb & Brush and other assorted useful items.
