The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio met virtually Tuesday March 9, 2021 with ten members and one guest present. The Guest Speaker was Lo Hauser from Project Jericho on the subject of outreach to clients in the Juvenile Detention Center. Though challenged by the Pandemic Protocols, Project Jericho delivered an array of innovative projects. In an effort to make the arts accessible to all youth in our community, we host year-round visual and performing arts programming inside the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center. Arts programming can be an introduction to the arts for participating youth, or an extension of art instruction received inside the school systems. Youth who participate in Detention Center arts programming are often navigating complex situations, and use the arts as a tool to process and heal through self-expression and reflection. The Exchange Club of Springfield Foundation has sent a donation of $1,000 so that they may continue their good works. Lo Houser and Kristi Limes accept a donation from Exchange Member Wendy Holt in this photo from 2017.
