The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio delivered 6 more completed baby layette baskets under Operation Baby Link last week. This is a program that was started by the Airman & Family Readiness Program for the Guard Base and our club accepted responsibility for the project nine years ago. The Exchange Club Foundation of Springfield, Ohio provides the funds to create the baskets. The purpose is to provide a baby layette basket to expecting local Air National Guard service members and or their spouse, for new infants up to 2 months of age. The baskets include a baby poem, “Children Learn What They Live”, which are printed, framed, and placed in the baskets that compliment the Prevention of Child Abuse National Exchange Project. To date the club has provided hundreds of baby baskets, and will continue to provide them as long as they are needed.
The items include the following: Baby Bottles, Onesies, Bottle Brushes, Bath Toys, Pacifiers, Bath Loofahs, Bibs, Rattles, Baby Wipes, Baby Powder, Baby Shampoo, Baby Spoons, Wash Cloths, Snack Containers, Safety Plugs, Stuffed Toys, Baby Lotion, Socks, Small Books , Baby Comb & Brush, and other assorted useful items.
