The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio club members Larry and Bev Sewell attended the National Exchange Club Region 7 Annual Summit held this year in Marshal, Michigan and hosted by the Michigan District Exchange Clubs, November 4th and 5th. Keynote Speaker Leif Welhaven, National Exchange Club President-Elect, inspired some 60 or so participants from Michigan, Ohio-West Virginia, and Indiana Districts. Mr. Welhaven joined Exchange in 1999 and is a member of the Billings, Montana Exchange Club, and several others. He has built eleven Exchange Clubs,  many in Billings, which has seven, and only has a population of 100,000.

Topics of the fast-paced learning experience were, Club Building, Programs and Activities, Membership Recruitment and Retention, Fun Things to Do at Meetings, Fundraising for Small Clubs, Club Officer Training Resources, the National Education Portal, and how to add completed programs of service to the National Database.  There was even time for breakfast and lunch wedged in there.  Unity for Service!

Thank you RVP Jennifer Sweney and the Michigan delegation for this great opportunity to learn more ways to help our home clubs;”Inspire our communities to be a better place to live!”
