Members of the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio met Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 7:55 AM to help honor our nation’s glorious history for the Dedication Ceremony of a Freedom Shrine in the new Northeastern High School, in S. Vienna, Ohio. Chair Alan Peczkowski introduced Principal Todd Justice who welcomed eight Exchange Members and a number of students, faculty, and staff, including Exchange Member and NESD Board President Jill Parker. Beverly Sewell, Director Division 2, OH-WV District Exchange Clubs gave the Invocation. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by NEHS FFA President Joslin Mefford. The Color Guard consisted of FFA Members Tarren Turner, Cassidy Lusk, and Katelyn Jackson. The Freedom Shrine Keynote speaker was Larry Sewell, Past President, OH-WV District Exchange Clubs, who explained that the Freedom Shrine, exclusively a project of Exchange Clubs nationally, was conceived in the hope and belief that it will serve as a living symbol of the rich heritage of freedom under God shared by all Americans.
