On Saturday, March 11, 2023 , seven members of the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio, Karen Lotz, Holly, Skip, Peg, Mark Sullivan, Bev, and Larry, met for the first cap sorting party at Oesterlen. (Thank you Holly and Oesterlen!) In two hours, 62lbs pounds of clean caps had been sorted and bagged and 16 lbs of caps that will need washing were bagged for that eventuality at a later date. Thanks to Karen Lotz, Holly, Skip, Peg, Mark Sullivan, Bev, and Larry for giving up a few hours of Saturday in service to others. Special thanks to the ingenuity of Skip Warner, Carin Little, and Mark and Karen Lotz, for the design and assembly of a great workstation that enabled the group easily and quickly to sort, sort, sort! Thanks to all those citizens who gave the caps, Exchange members who accepted custody of the caps, and those who sorted ‘em! There are many, many caps left, so opportunities for Exchange members to participate in the project lie ahead. Unity for Service!
