The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio, met Tuesday March 14, 2023, 6 PM, in the Alumni Room of the Benham-Pence Student Center on the Campus of Wittenberg University, for its regularly scheduled member meeting, with 8 members and two guests present. Guest Speakers were Rob Lavoie, BSA Executive Tecumseh Council, and Mike Taylor, District Executive Tecumseh Council. Rob related that Covid restrictions hit Scouting like a hurricane with some units disbanded and others devastated. However, the good news is the Tecumseh Council saw a 13.2% growth in 2022 and 47 scouts made Eagle Scout, including the Council’s first female Eagle! The Council at present consists of nearly 10% female Scouts. Rob accepted a Foundation donation of $1,000 from Foundation Treasurer Don Lynam.
