The Exchange Clubs of Dayton and Springfield, Ohio joined forces to raise funds for the Veterans Matter charity Saturday November 11th, 2023 at the Dayton Masonic Center. The sum of $ 3,395 was raised and sent to Veterans Matter, Toledo, Ohio. To date, Veterans Matter has helped to house over 8,000 Veterans. The event featured a Pinewood Derby-like car race. Raffle Tickets sales were brisk both on the Springfield Club’s website and from the sales efforts of Exchange Members of the Dayton and Springfield Clubs. The six cars were crafted, painted, and decorated with the identifying color logo of the military branch each represented, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, Air Force, and Space Force, thanks to Ken Magills’ woodshop team at the Masonic Community Center Springfield. Thanks to Noah Pack leader of Cub Scout Pack 85 of Beavercreek who provided the expertise and the equipment so Bracketology was carefully calculated and displayed on a large screen, with Qualifying, Quarter and Semi-Finals, and then the Finals. A big ovation for Exchange Members of the Veterans Matter Fundraising Team, Chair Carol Suddath, MC Jim Suddath, Skip Warner, Andy Kittles, Karen Hupp, Peg Haemmerle, Joy Dabe, Ted Greenwood, Bill Wild, and Bev Sewell.
