The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio, met Tuesday March 26, 2024, 6 PM, at the Benham-Pence Student Center Alumni Room, with 10 members and 1 guest present. Guest Speaker was Abby Easton, Director of CASA. (Court Appointed Special Advocates.) Abbey shared that CASA served 77 children in 2023, with 39 children so far in 2024. She added that CASA has 16 volunteers at present and could certainly use more. Training for volunteers include 30 hours of instruction. Abbey stated that CASA is seeing more mental health issues and at a much younger age, perhaps a direct result of the Covid shut down of schools and the associated social disruption and anxieties. There are 47 CASA programs serving 60 of the 88 counties in Ohio. Director Easton accepted a $ 500 Foundation donation from Exchange Member Jill Parker.
