Volunteer efforts are very important to our society and should not go unnoticed. The National Exchange Club’s longest running project, the Book of Golden Deeds Award, recognizes dedicated volunteers who give endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live. The Book of Golden Deeds Award exemplifies The National Exchange Club’s beliefs.

The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio presented its 2024 Book of Golden Deeds Award to Christin Brown-Worthington at a banquet in her honor Tuesday April 30th, 2024 at the Joseph C. Shouvlin Center, on the campus of Wittenberg University.

Christin, nominated by the Clark County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Director Abby Easton, took an oath on October 26, 2022, to be a CASA to advocate for abused and neglected children in dependency cases at Clark County Juvenile Court.   Since taking her oath Christin has served five families and nine children.

Being a CASA Volunteer is one of many hats that Christin wears.  Christin is deeply rooted within the Clark County Community serving/ed on various boards and volunteering in multiple places.  Aside from CASA you will find her mentoring and volunteering to detained youth in the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center. Christin is involved with Restored Life Ministries where she is the Women’s Ministry Co-Chair and membership Ministry Co-Chair.  She is also on the “Take to the Streets Thanksgiving Feeding” Committee Member.

Christin is a member of the National Council of Negro Women where she is a Vice Chairperson for the Serving on Holiday Food Basket Committee.  Christin volunteers for “I Love Me”, Agape Dance Volunteer, City of Springfield Planning Board Member, Breaking Free to Be where she serves as Community Engagement Outreach Coordinator. Christin is the Team Leader for CareSource with the African American Wellness Walk Dayton Ohio, as well as United Way Floor Team Lead for Caresource.

Even after all that, Christin still finds time to be a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Many thanks to BoGD Chair Alan Peczkowski and the BoGD Committee for all their efforts!
