The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio held its Fifth Annual Golf Fundraiser on Saturday May 4, 2024, at Locust Hills Golf Course. Seventy-two golfers hit the links on a mild but overcast afternoon. One downpour was not enough to discourage the hearty duffers as they plied their mashies and niblicks across the green fields.
The winning foursome of Jeff Hall, Jenna Hall, Jayson Newsome, and Larry Newsome posted an impressive 18 under par, narrowly edging out our own Abbey Kittles’ team by a single stroke. The “Fourth was with them”, as Darth Duffer, and Obi-Mark Cannoli contended while visiting from a country club in a galaxy far, far, away.
The buffet dinner of roast pork, roast chicken, scalloped potatoes, green beans, Cole slaw, and dessert of vanilla ice cream sandwiches was excellent as always. Many door prizes were won, and the entire throng left tired, but satisfied.
Congratulations to Chair Andy K and his committee who worked at this event, Skip, Bev, Peg, Joy, Karen L, Karen S, Mark L, Bonnie, Susan, and all those who sold hole sponsorships and solicited door prizes from a very generous group of businesses. A great success, which will benefit the people of Clark County through the Second Harvest Food Bank. Unity for Service!
