Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio members Bev and Larry Sewell attended the return ceremony at the Dayton International Airport on Saturday evening September 21st, 2024. This is the last Honor Flight of the year from Dayton. The full plane load of Veterans and their escorts were stunned by the hundreds of well-wishers, family members, and friends who cheered wildly as they passed by, while the band played. Many were teary eyed at the welcome and it was a joyous, special occasion. The Veterans especially appreciated the Mail Call cards made and signed by our Springfield Club, the Tigers Exchange Club, and from the students at Northwestern HS and Middle School, and others. Larry was able to surprise his cousin Carl!
The Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission. In furtherance of this common goal, we have the enormous privilege of showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve.
Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to our organization.
