The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio hosted the first installment of the Youth of the Month/Year program Tuesday January 14, 2025, with ten members, Karen S, Skip, Alan, Jill, Dave, Carin, Peg, Tim, Mike, Larry, and nine guests present, who all braved the single digit wind chill factor. Youth Chair Karen Sullivan introduced the first four of twelve Senior Class students representing each local high school. The students, accompanied by their Guidance Counselors, were Aiden Anon representing Shawnee, Hailey Neer representing CTC, Kylee Sortman representing Tecumseh, and Reagan Judy representing Northeastern. Each student received a Youth of the Month Certificate, a stipend of $100, and an invitation to enter the Youth of the Year contest. The club’s Youth of the Year will receive a college scholarship of $1,000, the First Runner-up will receive $750, and the Second Runner-up will receive $500. The Youth of the Year will then be entered into the OH-WV District Youth of the Year contest, the winner of which will receive an additional $1,000 college scholarship. The District Youth of the Year will be entered into the National Exchange Club Youth of the Year contest. A college scholarship in the amount of $ 15,000 will be awarded to the National Exchange Club Youth of the Year for 2024-25. We were once again amazed by the accomplishments of each of the senior high school students!
