The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio met Tuesday May 27th, 2025, 6 PM, Park Branch CC Public Library, with 15 members and one guest present. Speaker Brenna Myers, Creative Assistant, Project Jericho, filled us in on the most recent activities in both the Juvenile Detention Center and Clark State. Brenna shared that the youths in detention are by and large voracious readers, averaging nine books per month, and that the library there holds some 3,000 volumes. She shared pictures of some amazing artwork as well as invited us to visit the Springfield Museum of Art where an exhibition of fiber art is displayed. In the Spring of 2025 Project Jericho-Clark State invited international fiber artist Annette Eshelman and writer Lisa Dunn to the SMA where they worked with nineteen women to explore visual art and creative writing. Together these young women and the woman who raised them created story scrolls, handsewn works of art that honor the memories they always return to. Brenna accepted a Foundation Donation of $ 1,500 for Project Jericho-Clark State ($750) and Project Jericho-Juvenile Detention Center ($750), from Foundation Treasurer Don Lynam and Club President Skip Warner.
