The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio wishes you a Happy 250th Independence Day from George Rogers Clark Park, site of the Shawnee village of Peckuwe. On August 8, 1780, the largest battle of the American Revolution fought west of the Allegheny Mountains occurred here. The victory halted British/Shawnee military operations in Ohio for a year.
