Charlie Bertemes, Senior from Southeastern High School was selected from a group of twelve Youth of the Month nominees, one from each of the twelve Clark County High Schools, to collect the $1,000.00 College Scholarship from the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio Foundation. Charlie and his parents attended a Noon Luncheon and included the First Runner-up, Scott Tursic and family of Shawnee High School who collected a $500 College Scholarship, and Emily Hasecke and family from Springfield High School, who collected a $250 College Scholarship.
Mr. Bertemes will be entered into competition for the Ohio-West Virginia District Youth of the Year contest, which would earn him an additional $1,000 College Scholarship if selected, and automatically enter him in competition for the National Exchange Club Youth of the Year contest, with a College Scholarship in the amount of $15,000.00 for the chosen youth.
