Wow!  The Springfield Club had a great showing at the District Convention at The Hope Hotel and Holbrooke Convention Center,Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, this past weekend.  Springfield Exchangites Peg Haemmerle, Melissa Tuttle, Karen and Mark Sullivan, and Larry Sewell accepted the “Best New Prevention of Child Abuse Project” Award for #ExchangeCares backpack project.  The Club also won the “Sister Club Challenge” by entering the most facebook postings on the Ohio-WV District facebook page.  Last, and certainly not least, our 30 year member Chuck Beard was honored with the “Lifetime Achievement Award for 2019 for his years of dedicated and selfless service to Springfield and Clark County through Exchange Projects!  The seminars were amazing, the fellowship was awesome, the entertainment engaging, and the food was fantastic! Our club presented a card and floral gift to the Dayton Club.  Congratulations to the Exchange Club of Dayton as it celebrates 100 years of service to Dayton and Montgomery County.

2018-2019 LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – Charles Beard – Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio – Joined February 1989

Mr. Beard, known to all as Chuck, joined the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio in February of 1989.  Chuck served as club President in the 1990’s. He served on the Board of Directors of the Club for many years and was an active and thoughtful participant with nearly 100% attendance for many years. Chuck was also elected to the Exchange Club of Springfield Foundation and served as its President and Chief Trustee for nearly a decade. He served on virtually every committee possible and assisted at nearly every service opportunity including as Chairman of the Youth Projects, and the Adopt-a-Highway project.  As a former educator, the Youth of the Month/Year held special meaning for him. His exemplary service to the youth and people of Springfield and Clark County, and through his 30 years of dedication and commitment to the Exchange Club’s Covenant of Service, we are honored, and privileged  to recognize the legacy of Chuck Beard to his community.
