The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio and its Foundation have established the Fred Dillon Endowed Scholarship in Manufacturing through the Clark State College Foundation, with a $15,000 donation.

FRED N. DILLON, joined the Exchange Club of Springfield in 1957. He served as Club President in 1968, 1981, and finally in 2000, at 90 years of age.

Fred, owner of Dillon Manufacturing in Springfield, created the Exchange Club Foundation of Springfield Ohio with a very generous bequest.  Since 2003, the Foundation has donated nearly $500,000 to local organizations and funded the club’s Exchange Projects of Service.  These include Americanism, Youth, Community Service, and the Prevention of Child Abuse projects. Fred mentored scores of Exchange members over the years.  He was elected President of the Southern Ohio-WV District of the National Exchange Club, and is a Book of Golden Deeds recipient.

Mr. Dillon graduated from The Ohio State University, was a member of the Kappa Phi Kappa Fraternity, former member of National Management Association and American Society of Tool Engineers, member of Clark County Hearing and Speech Association, and Charter member of the Springfield and Clark County Community Hospital Association.

Fred’s legacy of service through Exchange exemplifies what it is to be an Exchange Club Member.  He was especially passionate about education as one of the keys to success in life.
