Book of Golden Deeds Chair Alan Peczkowski presents the Award to Rosemary Clark, June 8, 2021, at a dinner in her honor.
Donna Lewis, Clark County Parks Department, nominated Mrs. Clark. “Working the front desk, completing Excel spread sheets, newsletters, managing the Facebook page or Google calendar are just a few of the things Rosemary does for the Park District. Rosemary is the type of person who helps from the sidelines or in the background. After volunteering much of the week, she will do more work from home. When someone is needed to help take money at the gate, or serve refreshments, distribute pumpkins for the carving contest, Rosemary is one of the first to offer her time and assistance. She has become an essential part of the operations of the Park District. In addition to her work with the Clark County Park District, Rosemary has helped kids learn to read through the Warder Literacy Center and taught Girl Scouts how to cook. While not having grown up in Springfield, Rosemary has always been willing to do what she can to make the Springfield community a better place for kids, families and the environment.”, stated Donna.
Volunteer efforts are very important to our society and should not go unnoticed. The National Exchange Club’s longest running project, the Book of Golden Deeds Award, recognizes dedicated volunteers who give endless hours of their time and talents toward making their communities better places to live. Ever since the Exchange Club of Huntington, Ind., sponsored the first award in 1919, thousands of unsung heroes and heroines have been recognized. The Book of Golden Deeds Award exemplifies The National Exchange Club’s beliefs.
