Five club members, Club President Mark Sullivan, Club Board of Directors Member Karen Sullivan, Club Secretary Beverly Sewell, Club Treasurer Peg Haemmerle, and District Past President Larry Sewell, attended this year’s Ohio-West Virginia District Exchange Clubs Convention in Canton, Ohio, on Friday May 20th and Saturday May 21st, 2022. It was a great convention, especially since the last two had been virtual due to the pandemic. Very interesting seminars, exciting auction, amazing student recipients for the Youth of the Year, (Greater Maumee Bay Club) and A.C.E. Award, (Lima Club). President Mark Sullivan accepted the club’s award for the “Best New Community Service Project” through our support of the Save-A-Warrior organization, from Ohio-WV District President Cindy Cullen, (Clyde). He also accepted the club’s 2021-22 National Service Award, as well as the Bronze Level Awards Patch for our banner. Larry Sewell received the “District’s Best Club Communication Award” for editing the monthly Newsletter, Facebook, and Website pages, and was recognized for designing the 2022 District Pin for the Ohio-West Virginia District Exchange Clubs.
Ginny Williams, (MT. Vernon/Stark County), was installed as District President by National Exchange Club Regional Vice-President Mike Reichek, (Ft, Bend, Texas). Beverly Sewell was installed as Division Two District Director. Special thanks to the host club, The Exchange Club of Canton/Stark County, who are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of their Charter in the National Exchange Club this year!
