Chair Karen Lotz reports that seven members of the Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio attended the dedication ceremony on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Lincoln Elementary School in Springfield, of a third memorial bench in honor of Deputy Matt Yates. The Deputy, who lost his life in the line of duty answering a domestic call, had attended the school in his youth. The bench was accepted by his mother Lisa, who lives close by, his father, wife Tracey, and daughter, as well as many citizens paying their respects. Thanks to members Alan P, Mark L, Karen L, Skip, Larry, and Melissa Tuttle who was the keynote speaker, Bev Sewell for the Invocation, and AK, daughter of Deputy Yates, for leading the Pledge of Allegiance.
