The Exchange Club of Springfield once again entered a team in the Clark County Cancer Relay for Life on June 2, 2017, as a Community Service Project. For the second consecutive year the club was selected as the “Best Decorated Booth”. The theme this year was “Relay around the World” and the Exchange Club selected Jamaica for its country. “It was outrageous, mon”, and hundreds of dollars were donated. Special thanks to Captain Karen Sullivan for all her hard work organizing and planning and purchasing supplies. Special thanks to Peg Haemmerle for cooking the Jamaican Jerk Chicken with Caribbean Slaw, and Strawberry Margarita and Pina Colada cupcakes. There was a great raffle and plants for sale along with games for the children. Thanks to Exchangites Wendy Holt, Jerry Sewell, Mark Sullivan, Peg Haemmerle, Teresa Metzger, Larry Sewell, Beverly Sewell, Andy, Susan, and Abbey Kittles. Thanks also to Exchangites Don Lynam, Stacey Thomas, and Sheriff Deb Burchett who checked in to see if additional help was needed. Well done. We are EXCHANGE STRONG!
