The Exchange Club of Springfield, Ohio met Tuesday October 8, 2024, 6 PM, at the BPSC Alumni Room on the campus of Wittenberg University with 14 members, Skip, Tim, Jill, Karen H, Mark L, Karen L, Alan, Bev, Peg, Don, Bonnie, Larry, Mark S, Karen S, as well as new member Dave Sauter, and two guests present. Guest Speakers were Sheriff Deputies Shaun and Josh, Project D.A.R.E.  Josh works with 5th graders in each of the many county schools, introducing the program, which has evolved to promoting ‘Good Decision Making’.  Deputy Shaun, who works primarily with 7th graders and high school students, uses a decision-making model based upon: D – Define the problem, challenge, or opportunity, A – Assess choices, R – Respond by making a choice, using the facts and information one has gathered, E – Evaluate and review one’s decision by asking, “Did I make a good choice”. This program, with a total of 12 lessons, provides a vital and much needed tool to the students, useful for the rest of their lives. The program also gives the students a balanced view of public safety members.  President-Elect Jill Parker presented a Foundation donation of $500 with President Skip Warner, to Deputies Josh and Shaun
